Now that all of the Easter decorations are put away, I’ve been searching for ideas on how to keep the beautiful colors of Spring in my home, and do it affordably.

I’ve always loved a pretty table and I’ve managed to collect some nice pieces over the years. I found this great mix and match pattern at Macy’s and I just love it!  Especially the little salt and pepper shakers!Hydranga2

A beautiful table setting is really just an expression of caring and love for those who gather with us.  It not only offers substance for the tummy, but for the soul, as well.

I love playing with dishes and hope to try and recreate some of this amazing tablescapes.

My love affair with all things miniature began when I was 10 and spent the summer with my Aunt and Uncle.

The little girl across the street had the most amazing miniature dollhouse. I had never seen unlike it before, and haven’t seen anything like it since. Crafted by her grandfather and completely lit and furnished, we played with it for hours on end.

I’ve always dreamed of having my own miniature dollhouse and a few years ago my husband surprised me with a beautiful Cape-Cod style home for Christmas.

I am still decorating and always looking for inspiration.  These are some of the things I would love to re-recreate in my own way.

Dollhouse Miniatures

Everything about this is room amazing. From the stained glass door, fluffy, knitted throw, hand-embroidered pillows and shabby chic style furnishings.

A larger view of the Great Room. Adorable dining table  and tons of little details everywhere you look.

Dollhouse Miniatures

This rug is beautiful!  I want a full-size one for my real house!

Little dressing table and beautiful wrought iron bird cage

Victorian bottles on the dressing table, a miniature jar of Vaseline and some soft lighting.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for the amount of work that goes into creating these lovely rooms for all of us to enjoy!

“Hi. My name is Elayne and I’m an addict”… Isn’t that what people say at 12 step meetings?  Well, I think  I need to find one as I have discovered the wonderful, time-eating, totally addictive world of Pinterest.

No longer do I have time to scrap or stamp or create or cook or eat or watch TV or clean or do laundry or even worry about what my 3 kids (all grown) might be up too.  No time to suffer through empty nest syndrome (daughter just moved out) and certainly no time to go to the gym.

Nope, I am far too busy “pinning” my life away.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining.  I have pinned some great ideas of things to do, things to buy, and things to see.   Truth be told?  I really enjoy it!  It seems to get my creative juices flowing.

Now I just have to figure out how to get off the computer long enough to actually do something that’s more creative then staring at the screen until my eyes ache while drooling, sighing, and clicking the “pin it” button.

You can see what I’ve been up to on my boards!  Have a great day everyone!

Stampin' Up Sympathy Card
I made this card while experimenting with the new Stampin’ Up Edgelits and Textured Impressions Embossing folders.  It’s a little crooked but that’s okay!  Anyway, I used the following products on this Sympathy card:

Cottage Style Breakfast Nook

About 2 weeks ago I woke-up, took one look around my house and decided it was time for a major change.  We’ve lived here for 12 years and the last two of our three children will be moving out shortly.  I love my home.  There is no way I’m  ”downsizing”.

We’ve slowly begun to replace the appliances and I guess we’ll eventually install new counters.

This is our breakfast nook and breakfast bar  - without the beautiful decor!

I pretty much love the drapes and the window seats and I will definitely be duplicating that look!

Not sure about the little stools.  A little to girly for my hubby to take.

Cottage Style Guest Room

My daughter moves out March 1st so converting her room to a guest room is at the top of the list.  Love this look!

Now I’m off to search for some dining room ideas!

Until next time,
