I made this card while experimenting with the new Stampin’ Up Edgelits and Textured Impressions Embossing folders. It’s a little crooked but that’s okay! Anyway, I used the following products on this Sympathy card:
Evidently it’s a “thank you note” kinda weekend! My husband’s golfing buddies dad spoiled us rotten last night when we celebrated an early Anniversary Dinner at New York Prime Steakhouse in Boca Raton.
The service and the food were simply outstanding! I could definitely get used to that place! Live music too – and from MY generation
So, more thank you notes. The first one I made was for him. I used only Stampin’ Up products (imagine that….):
A man I don’t work with very often called and invited me to a seminar in Palm Beach on Alzheimer’s disease.
It was hosted by The Scripps Research Institute where researchers are working very hard to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. They employ some of the leading scientists and researchers in the country so it was a wonderful opportunity.
This is the Thank You Note I made for him. I used the following Stampin’ Up supplies:
If you’re anything like me, making sympathy cards is not at the top of your list of favorite things to do.
When someone loses a loved one or a pet, one of the ways we let them know that we’re thinking about them is by sending them a sympathy card.
I have a little ritual I began when I started hand-making my own sympathy cards. I turn on some music that reminds me of the person who has passed away, light a candle and then use the time I’m creating to say good-bye.
I try to think about all of the good times I shared with them. Maybe something funny they once said or something silly they did that just makes me laugh.I let my mind run through all of the memories I have of the time we spent together. Sometimes I get mad or cry, but most of the time I find something that makes me smile.
I’ve learned that for me, the time I take to hand-make a sympathy card is very healing and therapeutic. It helps me reflect and forces me to remember all of the good and happy times, rather than dwell on the pain and sadness. It helps me say good-bye and it helps me to let go.
Anyway, I made this card last night. Here is a list of the Stampin’ Up supplies I used. I stamped each flower three times and then just cut-out the center and used a Stampin’ Dimensional to make them pop. There is a tiny little pearl in the center of each one.
